This ICON hat was made with wool from a special breed of Merino sheep and by American artisans who are experts at processing wool, making yarn, and making hats. The wool started in the Catskills of New York where this fine breed of Merino sheep have been lovingly cared for over decades at the Catskill Merino Sheep Farm. After the wool was shorn, it was sent to be washed at our own scouring plant, Bollman Industries, in San Angelo, Texas which is one of the world’s premier scouring plants. The now clean wool continues to Green Mountain Spinnery in Vermont where it was spun into yarn. Finally, it arrives at America’s oldest hat factory in Adamstown, Pennsylvania where employee-owners knitted, felted, dyed, blocked, sewed, and embroidered this limited edition Kangol 504.
